I'd wanted to visit the airshow for weeks, but on that day, I awoke with lousy flu, and my hearing was impaired. I used about six rolls of film and, frame-for-frame, that outing yielded the best compositions because I was not responding to sound like I usually do.
The commentary, which blared from the grey conical speakers, cut unexpectedly from the earthy 'Grandma's Feather Bed' to brusque instructions between the two occupants of the Rooivalk helicopter's cockpit. The Rooivalk was banking in fast from the Tableview side, out of the blue.
