FRAMED Ntafufu River Mouth, 2014
I’ve spent a lot of time in the vicinity of the Ntafufu river mouth, whose saturated, sub-tropical atmosphere is underpinned by the species of latent menace alluded to by 20th Century bundu-bashers and which, by dogging the subconscious into a state of hyper-awareness, can sharpen one’s sense of beauty.
Home-made shotguns, mange, LSD, alcoholic Tr.Tr. on disability. Irridescent kingfishers hovering more accurately than stones, bulletlike glinting fish flanks, black and red crabs arranged in elastic consortiums like wind-up Persian carpets rattling gently as they reconfigure themselves periodically per unseen stimuli.
