I made this photograph on a sweltering hot evening adjacent to a train siding in Nashville, TN.
This sketchy city edge reminded me of the sub-tropics of KZN in South Africa where I grew up: cicadas, sweat, haphazardness, lack of surveillance, and the perfect place for carpetbaggers to park their Chryslers; false start central.
